Who meets California HQT requirements?
A teacher who:
- Holds a Bachelor's Degree
- Has a California Credential or Intern Certificate
- Has demonstrated Subject Matter Competence in every NCLB core academic subject area they teach
Who does NOT meet California HQT requirements?
- Teachers on an Emergency Permit
- Teachers on Waivers
- Teachers with Supplemental Authorizations (except when based on a major in subject taught)
- Teachers holding a Pre-Intern Certificate
- Teachers using an Employer Assignment Option (ex. Board Resolutions/Committee on Assignments)
